Are you looking to gain valuable classroom experience in secondary schools? Do you have strong behaviour management skills and the confidence to lead a classroom? Veritas Education is currently recruiting Cover Supervisors to work across a range of welcoming and supportive secondary schools throughout East Lancashire.
This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, youth workers, sports coaches, teaching assistants, or experienced Cover Supervisors looking for flexible work within education.
The Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-set work in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring students remain engaged and on task whilst maintaining a positive learning environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supervising lessons across a variety of subject areas
- Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Ensuring students complete work set by the teacher
- Providing support and guidance where appropriate
- Reporting back to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour
- Creating a safe, positive, and productive classroom atmosphere
What We're Looking For
We are seeking individuals who:
- Have experience working with young people aged 11-16 or 11-18
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Are confident managing groups of students
- Have a professional and adaptable approach
- Are passionate about supporting young people in education
- Hold, or are willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
Previous classroom experience is beneficial but not essential.
