Veritas Education is seeking enthusiastic, confident, and reliable Cover Supervisors to work on a daily supply basis in secondary schools across Huddersfield.
This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced cover supervisors, youth workers, sports coaches, or education professionals looking to gain valuable classroom experience while enjoying flexible working arrangements.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring students remain engaged, on task, and working in a positive learning environment.
The Role
- Supervising classes across a range of subjects using work set by teaching staff.
- Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
- Ensuring pupils remain focused and complete the work provided.
- Providing a calm, professional, and supportive classroom presence.
- Reporting back to teaching staff regarding pupil progress, behaviour, and lesson outcomes.
- Working across different year groups and subject areas as required.
- Supporting the school's commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience working with young people, either in schools or other settings.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Confidence leading groups of students independently.
- Ability to adapt quickly to different school environments.
- Professional, punctual, and reliable approach to work.
- A passion for supporting young people's learning and development.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one through Veritas Education.
