KS2 Intervention TeacherFull-Time | ContractMPS-UPS (Dependent on Experience)Location: Barnoldswick, LancashireStart Date: September 2026

Inspire Confidence. Accelerate Progress.

Veritas Education are delighted to be working in partnership with a caring, ambitious and community-focused primary school in Barnoldswick to recruit a passionate, dedicated and nurturing KS2 Intervention Teacher to join their team from September 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who believes every child deserves the opportunity to flourish, regardless of the barriers they may face. Working with Year 5 and Year 6 pupils, you will play a vital role in helping children build confidence, accelerate progress and develop the knowledge and skills they need for a successful transition to secondary school.

The school is proud of its warm, inclusive and aspirational culture, where every child is encouraged to be curious, resilient and ambitious. Rooted in strong community values, the school believes in fostering positive relationships, celebrating individuality and creating a nurturing environment where pupils feel safe, respected and inspired to achieve their very best. Staff work collaboratively to provide high-quality learning experiences that enable every child to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

In this rewarding role, you will spend the majority of your week delivering high-quality intervention programmes for Year 5 and Year 6 pupils, providing targeted support in English and mathematics through small-group and individual sessions. Working closely with class teachers, the SENDCo and senior leaders, you will use assessment information to identify learning gaps, plan bespoke intervention programmes and carefully monitor progress to ensure every child reaches their full potential.

You'll play a key role in preparing pupils for the challenges of Upper Key Stage 2 and their transition to secondary education, building confidence, resilience and independence alongside academic success. Your ability to motivate, encourage and adapt learning to meet individual needs will make a genuine difference to children's educational journeys.

If you're looking for a role where you can have a measurable impact while working within a supportive, forward-thinking and collaborative school community, we'd love to hear from you.

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Have experience teaching within Key Stage 2, particularly Upper Key Stage 2.
  • Have a strong understanding of the Year 5 and Year 6 curriculum and end-of-Key Stage 2 assessment expectations.
  • Be passionate about raising attainment and helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.
  • Deliver engaging, targeted intervention sessions that accelerate progress and build confidence.
  • Adapt teaching effectively to meet a wide range of learning needs, including pupils with SEND and those requiring additional challenge.
  • Demonstrate excellent classroom practice and behaviour management.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, carers and colleagues.
  • Work collaboratively with class teachers, the SENDCo and senior leaders to ensure interventions are effective and responsive to pupil needs.
  • Be reflective, patient and committed to ensuring every child achieves their potential.
  • In return, the school offers:

  • A welcoming, inclusive and supportive school community.
  • Enthusiastic, respectful and motivated pupils who enjoy learning.
  • A dedicated and approachable Senior Leadership Team.
  • A collaborative and highly supportive staff team.
  • A strong commitment to staff wellbeing and work-life balance.
  • High-quality CPD and opportunities for continued professional development.
  • Well-resourced learning environments and intervention spaces.
  • The opportunity to make a significant impact on pupils' confidence, attainment and future success.
  • Applications are warmly welcomed from both Experienced Teachers and confident Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are passionate about inclusive education and committed to ensuring every child succeeds.
