North Lancaster Area | September Start | Long-Term Opportunity
Veritas Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant / Welfare Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the North Lancaster area from September 2026 on a long-term basis.
This is a varied role combining lunchtime welfare support with classroom-based Teaching Assistant responsibilities, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working with young children and supporting their development both in and out of the classroom.
Role Details
Welfare Assistant
- Monday to Friday
- 12:00pm - 1:30pm daily
- Supervising and supporting pupils during lunchtime
- Promoting positive behaviour and ensuring children remain safe and engaged
Teaching Assistant (Year 1)
- Wednesday only
- 9:00am - 3:00pm
- Supporting the Year 1 class teacher with learning activities
- Providing individual and small-group support
- Helping pupils to achieve their full potential in a nurturing classroom environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working with primary-aged children (school-based experience desirable)
- A positive, patient and caring approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
