Level 3 Teaching Assistant - Primary School

Location: Preston, Lancashire Start Date: 1st September

About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Primary School in Preston from 1st September. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated education professional who is passionate about supporting children's learning and development in a positive and inclusive environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers to deliver high-quality support across the curriculum, helping pupils to achieve their full academic, social, and emotional potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
  • Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning objectives.
  • Provide targeted intervention support to raise attainment and progress.
  • Support pupils with varying learning needs, including those requiring additional support.
  • Assist with classroom preparation, organisation, and resource management.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and promote an inclusive learning environment.
  • Support the safeguarding and wellbeing of all pupils.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school and participate in school activities where required.
  • Essential Requirements

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience working within a Primary School setting.
  • Strong understanding of the primary curriculum.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • A proactive, flexible, and positive approach to supporting learning.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Desirable Requirements

  • Experience delivering interventions in literacy and numeracy.
  • Experience supporting children with additional learning needs.
  • Knowledge of phonics programmes and primary assessment frameworks.
  • First Aid qualification.
