Veritas Education are working with a vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Middlesbrough who are seeking a Student Support Mentor to join their team from September. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity with the potential to continue for the right candidate.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting young people, particularly those who may need additional guidance with behaviour, engagement or emotional wellbeing.
The Role:
- Supporting students across KS3-KS4 on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Building strong, positive relationships to improve engagement and attendance
- Assisting pupils who may face social, emotional or behavioural challenges
- Working closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to support student progress
- Promoting a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with young people (school, youth work, support work, coaching or care background)
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills
- Calm, patient and resilient approach
- Genuine interest in supporting student wellbeing and development
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one - we can support with this)
