Learning Support Officer (Full-Time) - Secondary School
Location: Bradford Start Date: September 2026 Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only Agency: Veritas Education
About the Role
Veritas Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in the Bradford area to appoint a Learning Support Officer for a full-time position starting in September.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and proactive individual who is passionate about supporting young people to achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting students with a range of additional needs, helping to remove barriers to learning in both classroom and small-group environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide in-class support to students across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Work closely with teaching staff to deliver tailored learning support
- Support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including ADHD, ASD, and social, emotional, and mental health needs
- Deliver targeted interventions on a 1:1 or small group basis
- Promote positive behaviour and engagement in line with school policies
- Assist in the preparation of learning materials and classroom activities
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to staff
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous experience working with young people in an educational or support setting
- A strong understanding of supporting students with additional needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant qualification, or degree) are advantageous but not essential
