About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Blackpool. This role will involve providing both 1:1 and 2:1 support to pupils with special educational needs, helping them to access learning and reach their full potential.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and making a real difference in their educational journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide tailored 1:1 and 2:1 support for pupils with SEN
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
- Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development
- Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies
- Encourage independence and confidence in learning
- Support pupils with additional needs such as ASD, ADHD, or learning difficulties
- Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
Requirements
- Previous SEN experience - essential
- Experience working with children in an educational or care setting
- Understanding of different SEN needs (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
