Veritas Education are working in partnership with a highly regarded 1.5 entry Primary School in Chorley, Lancashire, seeking an experienced, creative, and passionate Reception Teacher for a maternity cover position starting September 2026.

The Role
The successful candidate will take full responsibility for a Reception class, delivering engaging and developmentally appropriate learning experiences in line with the EYFS framework.
You will be expected to:
- Plan, prepare and deliver creative, play-based learning opportunities across all areas of the EYFS curriculum
- Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners
- Track, assess, and monitor pupil progress using EYFS assessment frameworks
- Differentiate provision effectively to meet a wide range of abilities and developmental needs
- Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues to support each child's learning journey
- Contribute to the wider Early Years team and actively engage in school life
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Have recent and relevant experience teaching within Early Years / Reception
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of child development and the EYFS curriculum
- Be confident in delivering phonics (e.g. Read Write Inc, Letters & Sounds or similar)
- Have excellent behaviour management and organisational skills
- Be creative, flexible, and committed to delivering high-quality early education
- Be a positive team player with a proactive attitude
