Location: Redbridge, East London Salary: £1,800 - £2,200 per month Start Date: Immediate
About the Role
A welcoming and well-regarded primary school in Redbridge, East London is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for pupils with Special Educational Needs.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a nurturing and inclusive school community. The role is expected to run until at least July, with the potential to become a permanent position.
The school is a two-form entry setting with excellent facilities, supporting pupils from Reception through to Year 6, including a strong SEN provision. It is well connected by public transport and offers a friendly, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting Pupils- Provide tailored 1:1 support for pupils with SEN
- Support academic progress under the guidance of the class teacher
- Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
- Deliver targeted 1:1 and small group interventions
- Promote inclusion and active participation in lessons
- Support implementation of IEPs and behaviour plans
Supporting Teachers- Assist in maintaining a positive and structured learning environment
- Apply strategies to support lesson delivery
- Track pupil progress and provide feedback
- Reinforce positive behaviour in line with school policies
- Provide general classroom support where required
Requirements
Essential- GCSE English & Maths (Grade C/4 or above), or equivalent
- Previous experience working with children or as a Teaching Assistant
- Experience supporting pupils with SEN
Desirable- Experience providing 1:1 SEN support (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH)
- A degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field
