Location: Stockton-on-Tees Start Date: ASAP Contract: Long-term supply Pay: £100-£150 p/day
Are you passionate about working with young people and making a positive impact in a school setting? A welcoming and inclusive mixed secondary school in Stockton-on-Tees is looking to appoint a confident, adaptable Cover Supervisor to join their team on a long‑term basis.
The Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will:
- Deliver pre-prepared work to classes in the absence of the teacher
- Maintain a positive learning environment and manage classroom behaviour
- Support students aged 11-16 with their learning and engagement
- Build strong relationships with pupils and staff
- Contribute to the school's ethos as an enthusiastic and reliable member of the team
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain more experience in a secondary school environment-ideal for future teachers or those passionate about youth development.
Who We're Looking For
We'd love to hear from you if you have experience working with young people in any of the following areas:
- Sports coaching
- Youth work or Support work
- Community or mentoring roles
- Classroom or SEN support
- Other roles involving leadership or guidance of young people
You must also be:
- Confident in managing behaviour
- Adaptable and proactive
- Able to engage and motivate students
- Available for a long‑term placement starting immediately
Requirements
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one through us)
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
- At least 6 months' experience working with children or young people
