Location: Near Bacup, Rossendale Contract: Ongoing Agency: Veritas Education
Are you passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers and reach their full potential? Veritas Education is looking for a dedicated, resilient Behaviour Specialist to join a welcoming Secondary School near Bacup on an ongoing basis.
The Role
As a Behaviour Specialist, you will:
- Work closely with pupils who require additional behavioural, emotional, or social support.
- Support the school's Behaviour and Pastoral teams to maintain a positive and inclusive environment.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students to help them engage in learning.
- Implement behaviour strategies, de‑escalation techniques, and personalised support plans.
- Work 1:1 and in small groups to encourage progress both academically and socially.
What We're Looking For
- Experience working with young people with behavioural needs (school, youth work, SEMH, PRU, mentoring, or similar).
- Strong communication, patience, and resilience.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and use positive behaviour management strategies.
- A proactive, compassionate approach to supporting vulnerable learners.
- DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
