Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Tower Hamlets, London School Type: 2-Form Entry Primary School Agency: Veritas Education Start Date: ASAP Contract: Full-time (term time)
Job Description: Veritas Education is working in partnership with a welcoming 2-form entry primary school in Tower Hamlets to recruit an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant. The successful candidate will support pupils with special educational needs across the primary age range, working closely with class teachers and the SENCO.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and learning difficulties
- Support children within the classroom and during interventions
- Assist the class teacher with lesson activities and classroom management
- Implement and support EHCPs and individual support plans
- Encourage positive behaviour, engagement, and emotional development
- Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant is essential
- Experience supporting children with SEN in a primary school setting
- Knowledge of the primary curriculum is desirable
- Patient, caring, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
