About Us: We are a trusted recruitment agency partnering with secondary schools in the Thamesmead area, and we are currently seeking motivated and reliable Cover Supervisors to join our team. As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a positive learning environment in the absence of a class teacher. If you're passionate about education and supporting students, this is the perfect opportunity to make a difference!
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and manage classroom activities in the absence of the regular class teacher.
Ensure students remain on task and complete set work in a timely manner.
Manage student behaviour effectively, ensuring adherence to school policies.
Support the teacher's lesson plans and provide assistance where necessary.
Maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment.
Report any issues or incidents to the school leadership team as required.
Requirements:
Experience working with young people, preferably in an educational setting.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students.
Ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively.
Flexible and adaptable to different school environments.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
A positive attitude towards teaching and education.
Desirable (but not essential):
A background in education, youth work, or sports coaching.
Degree or relevant qualifications in education-related fields.
