Day Rate: £180-£250 (dependent on experience) Start Date: January 2026 Location: Dorking, Surrey
We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and dedicated Nurture Teacher to join our dynamic team at a well-established SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) School in Dorking. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students who require additional emotional and educational support.
About the Role: As a Nurture Teacher, you will work closely with students who have SEMH needs, creating a supportive and engaging environment to help them thrive academically and socially. You will be responsible for delivering tailored, high-quality lessons, providing emotional support, and helping students develop the skills they need to succeed both in and outside of the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons that meet the individual needs of each student.
Provide a nurturing, supportive, and structured classroom environment to promote positive learning outcomes.
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and other staff to ensure a holistic approach to each student's education and wellbeing.
Support students in developing their social, emotional, and behavioural skills.
Build strong relationships with students and their families to encourage active involvement in the educational process.
Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Key Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is necessary.
Proven experience working with students who have SEMH or similar additional needs.
A compassionate, patient, and resilient approach to teaching.
Strong communication skills, both with students and staff.
Ability to differentiate lessons to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and backgrounds.
A genuine desire to help students reach their full potential in a nurturing environment.
