Job Title: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant (Autism & ADHD Support)
Location: Primary School in Blackburn Start Date: As soon as possible
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support within a specialist SEN class in a primary school in Blackburn. You will work closely with two pupils diagnosed with Autism and ADHD, supporting their learning, social development, and emotional regulation throughout the school day.
This role requires patience, resilience, and the ability to implement strategies for managing challenging behaviour while creating a safe and positive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored 1:1 support for pupils with Autism and ADHD
- Implement behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques
- Assist with academic tasks, social skills, and emotional regulation
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO to follow individual education plans (IEPs)
- Promote inclusion and positive relationships within the classroom
Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting children with Autism and ADHD
- Strong understanding of SEN strategies and behaviour management
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
