SEN Learning Support Assistants required South East LondonASAP start£95-110 per day

Veritas Education is partnering with primary, secondary, and SEN schools across South East London to recruit dedicated Learning Support Assistants who are passionate about making a real difference in the lives of students with special educational needs and learning difficulties. These are full-time, term-time roles, Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4:00pm.

We are seeking candidates with a strong track record of supporting students, ideally within an educational environment, particularly those with SEN and additional learning needs. You should bring a solid understanding of SEN and learning difficulties, gained through professional experience and/or relevant academic study.

Responsibilities of the SEN Learning Support Assistant:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEN and learning difficulties.
  • Work proactively to help students meet their academic goals.
  • Encourage and motivate students to actively engage in their learning.
  • Assist in creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support the teacher in general learning and student development.
  • The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience supporting students with special educational needs and a solid understanding of SEN.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
  • Patience, empathy, and a nurturing, student-focused approach.
  • Reliability, professionalism, and the ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
  • A relevant degree and/or SEN training are an advantage
