Job Title: Year 6 Teaching Assistant (Part-Time) - Lancaster
Location: North Lancaster
Hours: 9:00am - 12:00pm, Monday to Friday (term-time only)
Start Date: January 2026
Veritas Education are working in partnership with a welcoming primary school near Lancaster who are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support in Year 6.
About the Role:
- Providing 1:1 support to a Year 6 pupil who is able to access the Upper Key Stage 2 curriculum.
- Offering general classroom support across the Year 6 class to enhance learning and engagement.
- Supporting some behavioural challenges with a patient and consistent approach.
- Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider school team.
- Role is linked to a pupil with a pending EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan).
Hours & Contract:
- Part-time: 9am-12pm, Monday to Friday.
- Term-time only.
- Long-term position, until July 2026
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have prior experience supporting children in Key Stage 2, ideally with additional needs or behavioural challenges.
- Be adaptable and able to balance 1:1 support with wider whole-class assistance.
- Be patient, resilient and able to build positive relationships.
- Work well as part of a team, but also show initiative.
- Hold (or be willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS on the update service.
