Teaching Assistant (Level 2-3)
Location: Bolton Contract Type: Full-time Salary: £13.68 - £16.15
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant (Level 2-3) to join our supportive school team. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to provide high-quality learning support, helping pupils reach their full potential in a safe and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the class teacher in preparing and delivering engaging lessons.
- Provide 1:1 and small group support, including for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
- Prepare learning materials and maintain classroom displays.
- Support with record-keeping, observations, and progress monitoring.
- Ensure safeguarding and welfare of pupils at all times.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above).
- Level 2 or Level 3 Certificate/Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent).
- Understanding of child development and safeguarding.
Desirable:
- Experience supporting pupils with SEN.
- First Aid qualification.
- Additional training in behaviour management or speech and language support.

- Managing challenging behaviour using positive reinforcement techniques. Experience working with children who have additional needs. Assisting teachers with lesson delivery and classroom management. Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff. Supporting small groups or individual pupils to reinforce learning.
