KS2 Teacher with Maths Lead Responsibilities

Location: Bolton, Great Lever Salary: MPS/UPS + TLR Contract: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate KS2 Teacher who can also take on the role of Maths Subject Lead. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled practitioner to combine classroom teaching with subject leadership, driving excellence in mathematics across the school.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning

  • Deliver high-quality teaching to KS2 pupils, ensuring lessons are engaging, inclusive, and aligned with the National Curriculum.
  • Plan, prepare, and assess learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with SEND.
  • Maintain a positive classroom environment that promotes high standards of behaviour and achievement.
  • Maths Leadership

  • Lead the development and implementation of the whole-school maths curriculum.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of maths teaching and learning, using data to inform improvement strategies.
  • Organise and deliver CPD sessions for staff to enhance maths pedagogy.
  • Support colleagues with planning, differentiation, and assessment in maths.
  • Promote a culture of maths mastery and ensure consistency in teaching approaches.
  • Additional Duties

  • Contribute to school improvement planning and work closely with SLT.
  • Organise maths enrichment activities, competitions, and parent workshops.
  • Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Essential Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)..
  • GCSEs in English and Maths at grade C/4 or above.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance / Willingness to get one.
  • Desirable Experience & Skills

  • Proven success teaching KS2 with strong pupil progress outcomes.
  • Previous experience as Maths Lead or involvement in leading maths initiatives.
  • Knowledge of Mastery approaches (e.g., White Rose, Power Maths).
  • Ability to analyse data and implement effective interventions.
  • Experience delivering staff training and supporting colleagues.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and school improvement.

    Experience
    Proven success teaching Key Stage 2 (Years 3-6), ideally across multiple year groups. Previous role as Maths Subject Lead or significant involvement in leading maths initiatives. Experience in developing and implementing a whole-school maths strategy. Ability to monitor and evaluate maths teaching and learning, including data analysis and improvement planning. Leading CPD sessions for staff.
    Qualifications
    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - mandatory for teaching in schools.
