Veritas Education is working with a friendly, inclusive primary school in Greenwich to appoint a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team from December 2025.
This OFSTED-rated 'Good' school is recognised for its warm, nurturing ethos and its commitment to ensuring every child thrives. As a HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting high-quality learning across the school-working closely with class teachers and the SENCO, delivering small-group interventions, and providing targeted 1:1 support to help pupils develop confidence, independence, and positive relationships.
This position offers an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated, and compassionate individual who is passionate about helping children succeed in an engaging and inclusive learning environment.
The Ideal HLTA Will Have:
Proven Primary HLTA or advanced teaching assistant experience (essential)
Strong understanding of strategies that support learning, communication, and behaviour
Patience, empathy, and resilience when working with pupils with additional needs
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and parents
Confidence in delivering planned learning activities and supporting high-quality teaching
Key Responsibilities:
Delivering planned learning activities to groups and individual pupils
Providing tailored 1:1 and small-group intervention support
Assisting teachers in adapting and delivering differentiated lessons
Supporting children's social, emotional, and behavioural development
Using creative, engaging approaches to enhance pupils' understanding and participation
Monitoring pupil progress and feeding back to teachers and the SENCO
Helping maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
