Team Leader - Children's Residential Home (Learning Difficulties) Location: Longridge / Ribchester, Lancashire Salary: £33,589.92 per annum Hours: 42 hours per week (including evenings/weekends)

Are you a compassionate and experienced care professional ready to take the next step in your career? We're proud to be working in partnership with a well-respected children's residential care provider to recruit a Team Leader for one of their specialist homes in the Longridge / Ribchester area, supporting children with learning difficulties.

About the Role:

As Team Leader, you'll play a pivotal role in creating a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment for children aged 8-18 with a range of learning disabilities and complex needs. You'll lead a dedicated team of support workers, ensuring high standards of care, safeguarding, and emotional support are consistently delivered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example in delivering person-centred care and support
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop staff to maintain a positive and professional team culture
  • Support the Registered Manager with day-to-day operations and compliance
  • Ensure care plans are followed and regularly reviewed
  • Promote independence, life skills, and emotional wellbeing for each child
  • Respond to incidents and safeguarding concerns with professionalism and empathy
  • What We're Looking For:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Children & Young People or equivalent (Level 5 desirable)
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a residential childcare setting
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with learning difficulties
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, trauma-informed care, and behavioural support strategies
