Teaching Assistant - English as an Additional Language (EAL) Specialist
Location: Burnley Contract: Flexible - Temporary with potential for long-term Start Date: Flexible
Do you have experience supporting learners with English as an additional language? Are you passionate about helping children thrive in a welcoming school environment?
We are working with a fantastic primary school in Burnley that is looking for a Teaching Assistant with TEFL or ESOL training (or similar experience) to join their team. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who loves making a difference and can bring creativity and patience to language learning.
What You'll Be Doing- Supporting pupils who speak English as an additional language to develop confidence and fluency.
- Working closely with teachers to adapt resources and ensure inclusive learning.
- Providing small group and one-to-one support tailored to individual needs.
- Encouraging progress in both language and wider curriculum areas.
What We're Looking For- TEFL, ESOL or similar qualification, or proven experience teaching English as a foreign language.
- A positive, proactive approach and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
- Flexibility and enthusiasm for supporting learning across the school.
