Advanced Teaching Assistant

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people? An innovative and nurturing Alternative Provision Centre in Middlesbrough is seeking a dedicated Advanced Teaching Assistant to join their team. This setting supports some of the most vulnerable students in the region, including those with SEND, those who are disadvantaged, and those requiring additional behavioural, social, emotional, or mental health support.
You will play a vital role in supporting students both in and out of the classroom, helping them to re-engage with learning and build confidence in a safe, inclusive environment. Working closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams, you'll help deliver tailored interventions and provide consistent, compassionate support.
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths (or equivalent)
- A Level 3 qualification related to working with children and young people
- Strong IT skills and the ability to use technology to support learning
- Excellent communication skills, with a warm, approachable manner
- A positive, proactive attitude and the ability to build strong relationships with both students and staff
