Veritas Education is seeking a passionate and flexible SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 in a welcoming primary school in Islington. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to work across a range of age groups and gain valuable experience supporting children with special educational needs.
About the Role:
- Work with pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups across different year groups
- Support children with a variety of needs including autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs
- Assist teachers in delivering personalised support plans and differentiated learning activities
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being
- Adapt your approach to suit the age and developmental stage of each child
About You:
- Experience working with children with SEN in a primary school or similar setting
- Able to adapt your support style across different age groups
- Patient, nurturing, and proactive with a genuine interest in supporting children's development
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Any relevant training (e.g., Team Teach, Makaton, PECS) is a bonus, but not essential
