1:1 Teaching Assistant - Year 4 (Job Share) Location: Lancaster Days: Thursdays & Fridays (flexible) Start Date: ASAP or after October Half Term Position Type: Long-Term Pay: 14.20
Veritas Education are working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in Lancaster, who are looking to appoint an experienced and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 pupil with Autism and behavioural needs.
This is a job share position, currently set for Thursdays and Fridays, but the school can be flexible with the working days to accommodate the right candidate.
About the Role:
Supporting a Year 4 pupil on a 1:1 basis within the classroom
Providing tailored support to meet the child's needs and learning goals
Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and external agencies
Implementing behaviour management strategies and adapting approaches as needed
Building a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil to foster confidence and progress
The Ideal Candidate:
Must have previous experience in a similar 1:1 role, ideally supporting pupils with ASD and behavioural needs
Strong understanding of Autism and effective strategies to support learning and emotional regulation
Confident with behaviour management and able to remain calm and positive under pressure
Resilient, patient and nurturing in your approach
Team player who communicates well with colleagues and parents
Key Details:
Long-term role within a supportive school environment
Start date: As soon as possible, or after October half term
Days: Thursdays & Fridays preferred - but flexibility available
