About the Role
Veritas Education are working in partnership with a secondary school in Kirklees to recruit a Design Technology Technician. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, organised, and practical individual to support the Design & Technology department and contribute to the learning experience of students.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing, setting up, and maintaining tools, machinery, and materials for practical lessons across Product Design, Resistant Materials, Textiles, Graphics, and Food Technology.
- Assisting teaching staff during lessons by supporting students with equipment and resources.
- Ensuring all machinery and tools are safely maintained and compliant with health & safety regulations.
- Ordering and managing stock, keeping accurate records of materials and equipment.
- Supporting the development of innovative projects and displays within the department.
- Promoting a safe, creative, and engaging workshop environment.
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience as a DT Technician or similar workshop/technical background is desirable.
- A practical, hands-on approach with good problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of health & safety practices within a workshop environment.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to support both staff and students.
