Overview
We're looking for a practical and organised Design Technology Technician to help keep a busy workshop running smoothly. The role combines hands-on technical work with preparation and support duties, making sure that equipment, tools, and resources are ready and safe for use.
Main Responsibilities
Maintain and service machinery, tools, and equipment to ensure they are safe, clean, and fully operational.
Prepare resources and materials ahead of practical sessions, ensuring everything is set up correctly.
Provide technical support during practical work, offering guidance when required.
Keep accurate stock records, monitor supplies, and place orders when needed.
Carry out regular safety checks and risk assessments to maintain a safe working environment.
Create, repair, and adapt items such as displays, storage solutions, and workshop equipment.
Assist with the smooth running of daily workshop activities, including tidying and organising spaces.
Skills & Experience
Good knowledge of workshop tools, machinery, and maintenance.
Awareness of health and safety procedures, ideally with experience in carrying out risk assessments.
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage stock and resources effectively.
A practical problem-solver, able to adapt quickly and support others with technical needs.
Confident communicator who can work well with colleagues and independently.
IT literacy and some experience with CAD/CAM or digital manufacturing equipment (desirable but not essential).
