We are working on behalf of our client, a well-established and highly regarded private day nursery in Horsforth, to recruit an experienced and motivated Deputy Manager to join their leadership team on a full-time, permanent basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced senior practitioner or current Deputy looking for their next challenge in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
About the Role:
As Deputy Manager, you will support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring high standards of care, learning, and compliance across the setting. You'll play a key role in leading the staff team, maintaining safeguarding and EYFS standards, and delivering a high-quality, child-centred environment.
You'll also:
Act as Manager in their absence
Be a key part of the nursery's operational leadership
Support with recruitment, training, supervision, and development of staff
Maintain strong partnerships with parents, carers, and external professionals
Oversee planning, observations, assessments, and tracking of children's progress
Ensure full compliance with Ofsted, health & safety, and safeguarding policies
The Ideal Candidate:
We're looking for a confident and capable Early Years professional with:
A minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare (or equivalent)
2+ years of experience in a senior or management position within a nursery setting
Strong working knowledge of the EYFS, Ofsted standards, and safeguarding procedures
Proven ability to lead, support, and inspire a team
Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
A passion for delivering exceptional early years care and education
