Are you a compassionate, skilled, and committed educator looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people with severe and complex needs? We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to join a specialist Designated Provision in Sunderland - a nurturing, inclusive, and well-resourced environment for learners aged 11-19 with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and complex medical conditions.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a forward-thinking and supportive Trust that is committed to delivering excellence in special education and investing in the development and wellbeing of both its pupils and staff.
Ideal candidate will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Specialist knowledge and understanding of SEND, particularly PMLD and complex needs.
- Experience working in a specialist provision or similar setting.
- A nurturing, resilient, and creative practitioner who puts the child at the heart of everything.
- Skilled in adapting the curriculum to meet individual needs, using a range of assistive technologies and communication methods (e.g., PECS, Makaton, AAC).
- An excellent team player who works collaboratively with therapists, medical professionals, and families.
