SEN/SEMH Teacher - Secondary Specialist Setting
Start date: September 2025 Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN allowance Location: Hertfordshire (exact location on enquiry) Contract: Full-time, long-term with permanent potential
This is a specialist secondary setting for boys aged 11 to 16, where most pupils have additional needs linked to social communication and emotional regulation. The school is calm, well-led and genuinely supportive - staff are trusted, students are known as individuals, and there's real scope to grow here if you're looking to build a career in SEN.
Although the pupils are secondary age, many are learning at a primary level - this would suit a primary-trained teacher just as much as a secondary one. Classes are small, support is strong, and creative, structured teaching is welcomed. You'll have the freedom to do what works, as long as it's consistent and relational.
What we're looking for:
QTS (primary or secondary)
Confidence teaching pupils with additional needs - or a strong interest in learning how
A calm, thoughtful classroom approach
Willingness to work closely with support staff, therapists and families
If you've worked in SEN or PRU settings before, great. If you haven't but feel this kind of school would suit your temperament and values, you'll be well supported to learn the ropes.
Full-time, Monday to Friday. Easy commute from Broxbourne, Cheshunt, Harlow, Enfield and surrounding areas.
Drop me a message or send your CV if you'd like to find out more - happy to talk it through.
