The Role
We are looking for a caring and motivated Learning Support Assistant (1:1) to provide personalised support to children with special educational needs or disabilities. Working closely with teachers and the Inclusion Team, you will assist in delivering tailored learning experiences and promoting positive behaviour in a safe and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support class teachers in delivering a broad and balanced curriculum.
- Assist in planning and delivering individualised learning activities.
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs.
- Contribute to the implementation of Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs) and intervention programs.
- Promote positive behaviour and social development.
- Build strong relationships with pupils and parents to support learning.
- Help maintain a safe, stimulating, and respectful learning environment.
- Support and promote the Catholic ethos and values of the school.
Candidate Profile
- Essential: Level 3 NVQ, CACHE, NNEB or equivalent childcare qualification.
- Desirable: GCSEs in English and Maths or equivalent.
- Experience working with children in educational or similar settings (minimum 2 years preferred).
- Good knowledge of the National Curriculum and child development.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to keep accurate records.
- Competent in using ICT to support learning.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
- Flexible, patient, positive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
