Job Title: Design & Technology (DT) Teacher Location: West Drayton Contract Type: Full-time (term-time only) Salary: £160+ Daily (D.O.E) Start Date: September 2025 (or earlier by negotiation)
Veritas Education are searching for a passionate and creative DT Teacher who thrives on making a real difference. Our client are a forward-thinking Alternative Provision school in West Drayton, dedicated to supporting young people who require a more personalised and nurturing approach to education. We are looking for an inspiring Design & Technology Teacher to join their committed team and help transform the lives of our students.
About the Role: This is a unique opportunity to teach DT in a setting where innovation, patience, and resilience are key. You will work closely with a small group of students who may have faced challenges in mainstream education, delivering engaging, hands-on learning that fosters both practical skills and confidence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging DT lessons (resistant materials, graphics, or other DT disciplines depending on your specialism)
- Differentiate teaching to meet the individual needs of students with SEMH and other additional needs
- Promote a safe, supportive, and stimulating learning environment
- Support students in achieving recognised qualifications (e.g., Entry Level, BTEC, GCSE)
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support holistic student development
What We're Looking For:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) - ECTs considered
- Experience teaching DT (in a mainstream or alternative provision setting)
- A flexible, creative approach to teaching
- Strong classroom management skills and emotional intelligence
- Passion for working with young people who need additional support to succeed
