Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary School (Orpington)
Location: Orpington, London Borough of Bromley
Contract Type: Full-time, Term Time Only
Start Date: ASAP or September 2025
Are you an experienced or aspiring SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a real impact in a child's life?
Veritas Education is working on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Orpington to recruit a committed and compassionate SEN TA to support pupils with additional needs.
About the Role:
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs (SEN), including ASD, ADHD, speech & language difficulties or SEMH. You will be working 1:1 or in small groups, helping to deliver personalised learning and emotional support alongside the class teacher and SENCO.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored support to pupils with SEN on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
Assist in delivering EHCP targets and differentiated learning plans
Foster a safe, positive and inclusive classroom environment
Support pupils with social interaction, communication and behaviour
Work collaboratively with the teaching team, SENCO and external agencies
Monitor progress and provide feedback to staff and parents
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Previous experience working with children with SEN (in a school or similar setting)
A patient, caring and proactive approach to supporting learning
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection
Relevant training (e.g. Team Teach, PECS, Makaton, Autism awareness) is a bonus
Qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching & Learning or similar are desirable but not essential.
