Veritas Education is working on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Deptford, which is seeking a compassionate and committed Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated SEN provision in September.
About the Role
This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with a range of special educational needs within a separate classroom setting, designed to deliver focused, personalised support. You will work with children across all age groups (EYFS to Year 6), providing both 1:1 and small group support to help pupils access learning, build confidence, and develop essential social and emotional skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualised and small-group support tailored to each child's needs.
- Assist teachers in planning and implementing engaging, inclusive activities.
- Foster a safe, nurturing environment that promotes well-being and resilience.
- Communicate effectively with teaching staff, SENCo, and external professionals.
- Track and report on pupil progress, supporting their educational journey.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have experience working with children with SEN, ideally in an educational setting.
- Be caring, patient, and committed to making a positive difference.
- Be adaptable and confident working across all primary age groups.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills and a proactive approach.
- Hold a relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) - this is desirable but not essential.
