Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs? Veritas Education is proud to be working in partnership with a warm and inclusive mainstream primary school in Greenwich, seeking a dedicated and nurturing SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) to join their team.
The Role:
We are looking for a SEN TA to support a child (or children) with additional learning needs on a 1:1 and/or small group basis. You'll be working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and external professionals to help create a positive and inclusive learning environment tailored to the child's individual needs.
Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support to a child with SEN (e.g. ASD, ADHD, Speech & Language, or SEMH needs)
- Implement and adapt learning strategies based on individual support plans
- Support pupils' social and emotional development
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and parents/carers
- Encourage independence and self-esteem in learners
- Assist with behaviour management and positive reinforcement techniques
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working with children with SEN in a school or childcare setting
- A calm, patient and empathetic approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A good understanding of safeguarding practices
- A passion for making a real difference in children's lives
Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant Diploma) and Team Teach or similar training are highly desirable but not essential.
