Veritas Education is currently recruiting for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and supportive primary school in Mile End. This is a full-time, long-term role starting immediately and continuing through to September 2026.
This opportunity involves supporting pupils within a Year 4 class and would suit a confident and proactive SEN TA looking for stability within a welcoming school environment.
The Role
You will be working within a Year 4 classroom, providing targeted support to pupils with additional needs. This may include 1:1 support as well as small group interventions, ensuring children can access the curriculum and make strong academic and social progress.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting pupils with SEND within the Year 4 classroom
- Delivering tailored interventions and small group work
- Adapting resources to meet individual learning needs
- Supporting behaviour regulation using positive strategies
- Assisting with the implementation of EHCP targets where applicable
- Encouraging independence and confidence
- Working closely with the class teacher and SENCo
The school is looking for someone who can confidently manage KS2 expectations and support pupils with increasing academic demands.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate must:
- Have proven experience supporting children with SEND in a primary setting
- Be confident working within Key Stage 2 (experience in Year 4 is highly desirable)
- Demonstrate strong behaviour management skills
- Be proactive and able to use initiative
- Communicate effectively with staff and pupils
- Be patient, resilient, and committed
This role requires someone experienced who can step in and make an immediate impact.
