We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance SENCO to support our post-16 education provision. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified and proactive SEN professional to work flexibly while making a real difference in the lives of young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
SENCO Role:* Coordinate and oversee SEN support for learners aged 16+* Complete and submit funding applications (including High Needs Funding)* Lead on the review, implementation, and compliance of EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans)* Liaise with local authorities, educational psychologists, and other professionals to ensure appropriate support is in place* Support teaching staff in developing inclusive teaching strategies and appropriate interventions* Maintain up-to-date records and contribute to quality assurance processesSENCO Requirements:* Qualified SENCO (NASENCO or equivalent)* Proven experience working with EHCP students, ideally in a post-16 setting* Strong understanding of High Needs Funding and completing funding forms* Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation* Excellent written and verbal communication skills* Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and collaborate with multiple stakeholders If you're interested in this SENCO role, please contact Alexandra Mayhew-Lewis at Veritas Education
