Year 3 Teaching Assistant needed for a Primary School in Blackburn We're currently working with a primary school in Blackburn who are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to support their Year 3 class.
This is a full-time role supporting the class with general day-to-day activities, with a focus on working with small groups and pupils who need extra help to stay on track - particularly with core subjects and behaviour management.
About the role:
You'll be based in a Year 3 classroom, working closely with the class teacher and supporting a range of learners. Your day-to-day will include:
Supporting small groups with English and Maths tasks
Helping children stay engaged and focused during lessons
Managing low-level behaviour in a calm and consistent way
Assisting with setting up activities and preparing classroom resources
Supporting the teacher with general classroom duties and transitions
Who we're looking for:
Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
At least 6 months of experience in a similar role within a school setting
Experience working with children who require extra support with learning and behaviour
Confidence supporting the KS2 curriculum, especially English and Maths
A calm, friendly, and proactive approach to classroom support
Bonus if you have:
Experience working in Lower Key Stage 2
Knowledge of intervention strategies or small group work
A current enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)
