We're looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant with experience in ASD to join a brilliant, supportive Secondary ASD school in Camberwell (Lambeth). This is a long-term, full-time position with fantastic opportunities for training and progression.

Your Role as an ASD SEN Teaching Assistant:
You'll play a vital role in supporting students aged 11-16 with Autism, including those with complex needs and non-verbal communication. You will work closely with teachers and therapists to help deliver a personalised, engaging curriculum.
Responsibilities:Supporting students 1:1 and in small group sessions
Aiding in the delivery of tailored lessons to meet students' EHCP targets
Using visual aids, PECS, Makaton or AAC (where applicable)
Creating a calm, structured learning environment
Promoting social skills, independence and emotional regulation
Assisting with personal care when required (some roles may involve this)
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Experience supporting children or young people with Autism (ASD)
Strong understanding of communication and sensory needs
Patient, empathetic and adaptable
Team player with a proactive attitude
A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply for one)
Desirable (But Not Essential):
Knowledge of PECS, Makaton or TEACCH
Background in SEN schools, residential care, or youth work
Experience with challenging behaviour or complex needs
