Pay: £110.00 - £125.00 Per Day
The Role:
Veritas Education are seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a vibrant and inclusive school community in Leeds. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils across a range of needs, including: Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, Down Syndrome, Communication and Language Needs.
- You will work closely with SENCO's, class teachers and support staff to deliver tailored interventions, adapted curriculum and support plans.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support across Key Stages.
- Promote inclusion and independence, adapting strategies to suit individual pupil needs.
- Assist with EHCP targets and contribute to review meetings and reporting.
- Use a range of communication techniques, including visual aids, Makaton, PECS (Where appropriate)
- Support behaviour and emotional regulation strategies.
- Lead sessions and cover classes as required, under teacher direction.
Requirements:
- HLTA qualification
- Experience in special needs schools or settings, helping run, lead or teach sessions
- Enhanced child and adult DBS check
- Comfortable supporting across range of needs and age groups
