Veritas Education are seeking dedicated, calm under pressure and resilient Behaviour Support Specialists to work in mainstream secondary schools across Stockton-on-Tees. If you have a background in supporting young people in challenging environments, this is your chance to make a lasting impact in education.
We welcome applicants from backgrounds such as:
- Youth work (including Youth Offending Team staff)
- Prison or secure unit staff
- Residential care (e.g. children's homes)
- Sports coaching
- Social care or support work
- Mentoring in alternative provision / PRUs
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support for students with behavioural and additional needs
- Assist with de-escalation, conflict management and emotional regulation strategies
- Support classroom engagement and promote positive behaviour
- Build trusting relationships with students and staff
- Help implement behaviour plans and safeguarding protocols
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment
This is a long-term temporary role, starting ASAP, with opportunities to grow and develop within the education sector.
Previous school or youth experience is advantageous but not essential - the right skills and transferable skills matter the most. Please note you will require a DBS on the update service.
