School Nurse

  • Location: Hampstead, London
  • Contract Type: Full-Time, Term Time Only
  • Hours: Full-time, 8:30am - 4:00pm
  • Pay: £39000- £42000 per annum

  • An impressive independent prep school in Hampstead are seeking a dedicated and experienced School Nurse to join their pastoral and medical team. This full-time, term-time position requires someone with excellent clinical knowledge, strong organisational skills, and a genuine commitment to pupil health and wellbeing.

    The School Nurse will be the primary point of contact for first aid and medical care within the school community, responsible for administering medication, maintaining medical records, managing first aid provision, and liaising with staff, parents, and external health professionals.

    As School Nurse, you will also contribute to pupil health education, oversee immunisation programmes, support staff training, and provide compassionate care to pupils with both physical and emotional health needs. Your role will be integral in ensuring a safe, healthy, and inclusive environment for all.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified School Nurse with strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to pupil care.

    Role Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with valid NMC registration
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within a school or child-focused setting
  • Up-to-date first aid and safeguarding training
  • Confident in managing minor injuries, chronic conditions, and medical emergencies
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain accurate and confidential medical records
  • Competence using digital systems (e.g. iSAMS or similar MIS platforms)
  • Organised, calm under pressure, and able to prioritise effectively
  • A flexible, team-oriented attitude with a child-centred approach
  • Understanding of policies around data protection, safeguarding, and health and safety
