Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) and making a real difference in their learning journey?
We are a welcoming and inclusive primary school based in Mitcham seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team from September 2025.
About the Role:
Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Start Date: September 2025
Location: Mitcham, South London
Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only
Salary: Competitive and dependent on experience
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or learning delays.
Assist the class teacher in delivering a supportive, safe, and engaging learning environment.
Support pupils with their academic, social, and emotional development.
Work closely with SENCOs, external professionals, and parents to implement and review individual learning plans.
Promote independence, confidence, and inclusion in all aspects of school life.
What We're Looking For:
Experience working with children with SEN (school-based or similar setting preferred)
A caring, patient, and positive attitude
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, TA qualification, or equivalent) are desirable
