SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary School (Deptford)
Location: Deptford, South East London Start Date: September 2025 Contract Type: Full-time, Term-Time Salary: £95 - £120 per day (dependent on experience)
Veritas Education is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive primary school in Deptford. This is a full-time role supporting children aged 6 to 11 with Special Educational Needs (SEN), starting from September 2025.
About the Role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the school's SENCO and class teachers to provide tailored support for pupils with a range of additional needs. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1:1 or small group support for pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs
- Implementing strategies to support behaviour management and encourage positive development
- Supporting the academic and personal progress of children across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2
- Assisting with the preparation of resources and classroom activities
- Building strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents to foster a supportive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous experience working with children with SEN, particularly those with behavioural challenges
- A calm, patient and resilient nature
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- A proactive attitude and a willingness to learn
- A valid DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply for one)
