Are you a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher with experience supporting students with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)? We are working on behalf of a supportive and inclusive secondary school to recruit a committed PMLD Teacher to join their team from September 2025.
About the Role:
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people with complex needs. The successful candidate will lead a class of secondary-aged pupils with PMLD, delivering a tailored, sensory-based curriculum that supports both academic and personal development.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of students with PMLD
- Create a safe, engaging, and nurturing learning environment
- Work closely with a dedicated team of support staff, therapists, and senior leaders
- Use alternative communication methods (e.g., Makaton, PECS, Eye Gaze)
- Assess progress and adapt teaching accordingly
- Build positive relationships with families and carers
The Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (e.g., overseas qualification, QTLS)
- Experience teaching students with PMLD or complex needs in a special or mainstream setting
- Skilled in using a range of communication and sensory strategies
- Compassionate, creative, and patient
- A team player with strong interpersonal skills
