Pay: £90.00 - £110.00 per day (Permanent roles available as well)

Type: Contract

Hours: Full Time - School Hours

The Role:

  • Working across both primary and secondary age groups, in small group settings of 6 - 10 learners.
  • Supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs across their school day, from within the classroom to around the school setting.
  • Manage behaviour across the learners, implementing behaviour management strategies, de-escalation techniques, and encouraging self-awareness and emotional regulation.
  • Promote the school's ethos of creating an inclusive, safe and nurturing learning environment accessible for all students.
  • Assist children on a 1:1 basis and within small groups with their educational sessions, whether that is core subject based, or more practical based sessions and activities.
  • Help students develop independent skills, from problem solving, self-assessment and pro-active thinking to help tackle their day-to-day school activities and tasks.
  • The Ideal Applicant:

  • Comfortable managing challenging behaviour and at time at-risk actions or crisis moments.
  • Happy to support children and young adults on a 1:1 basis, either within a classroom or on a separate specialised timetable.
  • Experience supporting special needs or SEMH requirements.
  • Committed and dedicated to providing all children access to education.
  • Confident in promoting self-development, personal growth and well-being for both learners and staff.
  • A relevant university degree, such as psychology, criminology, family support, childcare or sports/coaching - all really transferable skills into behaviour assistant roles!
