Exams and Data Officer - Watford Start Date: September 2025 Contract Type: Permanent Hours: 37 hours per week, 7:30am-3:30pm (incl. unpaid lunch break) Weeks: 41 weeks per year (38 term-time + 5 INSET + 2 weeks in August) Salary: £41,511 - £45,718 (FTE), pro rata depending on weeks/hours
I'm working with a fantastic school in Watford who are looking to appoint an experienced and detail-driven Exams and Data Officer ahead of the new academic year. This is a key post within the school and would suit someone confident managing large-scale internal and external assessments, while also taking ownership of student data systems.
Key responsibilities include:
Exams
Full oversight of internal and external exams (GCSE, A-Level, BTEC, KS3-KS5)
Ensuring JCQ and awarding body compliance throughout the exam cycle
Liaising with curriculum leads to manage exam entries and timetables
Coordinating and managing a team of external invigilators
Organising mocks, BTEC units and on-screen tests
Managing access arrangements and secure storage of papers
Overseeing results days and the issuing of exam certificates
Data
Oversight of SIMS and Go4Schools across the school
Leading on census returns, pupil reporting, and data analysis
Maintaining accurate student records, timetables, and target setting
Producing data and reports to support senior and middle leadership
Supporting school improvement planning through effective data management
Additional
Flexibility during exam periods is essential
Involvement in Open Evenings, INSET and key school events as required
Occasional invigilation cover
The right candidate will have:
Experience working within a school environment
Strong working knowledge of SIMS and Go4Schools
Excellent attention to detail and time management
Experience managing people or external teams (e.g. invigilators)
A calm, professional and confidential approach
