Are you passionate about supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and helping them reach their full potential? We are looking for a dedicated Part-time ASD Teaching Assistant to join a caring and inclusive school in Chorley from January. This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of ASD who is committed to providing the best support for students.
About the Role:
- Position: Part-time ASD Teaching Assistant (Mon, Thu & Fri)
- Start Date: January
- Location: Chorley, Lancashire
- Contract: Part-time, Permanent (3 days a week: Monday, Thursday, and Friday)
- Salary: Competitive (based on experience)
Key Responsibilities:
- Support children with ASD on a 1:1 basis and in small groups within the classroom
- Assist in the implementation of individualized learning plans (ILPs) to support students' academic, social, and emotional development
- Encourage and promote independence, social interaction, and communication skills
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure the delivery of tailored learning strategies
- Provide support for students during activities, ensuring their safety and well-being
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students
About You:
- Experience working with children with ASD, ideally within an educational setting
- A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to supporting students with additional needs
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff
- A desire to make a real difference in the lives of students with ASD
- Relevant qualifications or training in special educational needs (SEN) would be beneficial
