We are currently seeking an experienced History Teacher to join a secondary school in Lambeth. You will take full responsibility for teaching History and creating an engaging, dynamic, and inclusive learning environment that helps students develop a love for the subject. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated History teacher who is committed to student progress and achievement.
Key Responsibilities for History Teacher:
- Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality History lessons aligned with the school curriculum
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively, fostering a respectful and focused atmosphere
- Monitor, track, and assess student progress, providing timely feedback and targeted support
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement cross-curricular initiatives
- Engage students in discussions, projects, and historical enquiry that develop critical thinking
- Participate in extracurricular activities and school events as required
- Uphold and promote the school's ethos and values
- Ensure the safeguarding and welfare of all students
To be considered for this role, you will:
- Hold a degree in History (Master's level preferred)
- Hold QTS (desirable but not essential)
- Have proven experience teaching History in a secondary school setting
- Possess strong knowledge of the national curriculum and exam board specifications
- Demonstrate high expectations for student learning and behaviour
- Be a collaborative team player, able to work effectively with colleagues
- Have the ability to inspire and motivate students, helping them reach their potential
- Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
